DAY PROGRAM: The NeLL Day Program is led by experienced staff. They are supported by a diverse group of talented visiting instructors that help keep the program fresh and interesting. Programming follows these four themes:
ARTS: Talented artist-instructors help participants explore the arts including visual arts, music, drama, puppetry, and dance. Participants produce and perform shows for Open House events.
HEALTHY LIVING: Participants engage in a variety of physical activities to develop strength, stamina, flexibility and balance. With a fully equipped kitchen, participants prepare healthy food, some grown by participants in our own garden.
COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION: Participants go on frequent outings to community attractions and they support community events. Community guests visit to share their passions and talents.
CAMP: NeLL Camp runs for 4 days/3 nights in early September at a beautiful lakeside setting with cabins. Participants’ activities are tailored to their abilities and include the beach, boating, exploring nature, archery, rope climbing, outdoor cooking, and crafts. The NeLL Day Program prepares participants for camp in advance by building skills, strength and stamina.
BEFORE & AFTER PROGRAMS: The NeLL Before and After Programs allow participants to explore their interests, socialize with friends, be active, and enjoy healthy snacks. Families/caregivers can arrange drop off and pick up anytime during program hours. Participants can register for one, two, or all three of NeLL’s programs. They are perfect for supporting busy caregivers and open to high school students 18 years and older.
TRANSPORTATION SUPPORT: NeLL has partnered with Frontenac Transportation Services to provide affordable transportation to and from our programs for participants living in Frontenac County or Kingston. Ride sharing is coordinated by NeLL. Fees are based on a portion of the mileage costs of volunteer drivers. NeLL can provide you with a cost estimate for these services.
